WHERE THE SLEEPING DOG LIES (2:00 min), 2024
When the streets were blanketed with the first snow, you nuzzled your wet nose into the thick, warm fur. When the river was covered with a crisp crust of ice, you explored the shore with your powerful paws. When the midnight blizzard slid between the boulders, you disappeared.
I peered into every ice hole, searching for maps in the patterns of falling snowflakes, howling wolf songs helplessly at the moon, hoping to hear an answering whimper.
Please, give me a clue. What has become of you? What have you become?
A project created from pieces of memories, photographs and stories about the waterfront near the house where I lived for 18 years. An attempt to recreate the visible and invisible that remains in a place I can no longer visit.
